    Unable to specify a range to be copied

    In the following Sub routine I have been taken aback because the lines marked AA and BB are not accepted , giving an Application or Object Defined error
    The line marked CC is accepted. y and x both have the expected values. I cannot see a typo. Where am I going wrong ?

    You're qualifying the .Range and .Cells calls with two separate sheets and you can't do that. It should be:
