    Need a macro to block/secure a part of a worksheet

    Hi!

    I've faced a little issue concerning blocking a worksheet in Excel 2003.

    I'd like to block just a part of the worksheet, meanwhile the content in the other part can be filtred, changed - it stays aviable for editing.

    I've tried this way:

    Format cells --> Unlock (all the worksheet) --> Lock the particular part (which is needed to be blocked/secured);

    Tools --> Protection --> Protect sheet

    As a result the particular part is blocked, but the other (unlocked) part cannot be filtred which is the main problem.

    As far as I'm concerned, VBA code could solve the problem.

    See the file attached.Locking_EX_Forum.xls
    Regards

    If you are using the same rows for your results as the filtered data, you will run into problems.
    Your Filtered data could go below the results, or put the results on a different sheet.

    You can go to the sheets properties and set the scroll area to A:D so anywhere outside of those columns cannot be selected.
