    Userform and Automatic Recalc

I'd like to create a userform to "enter" a vlookup (or index/match) function into a cell given parameters entered in the userform.

    For example,

Say I have I have 2 columns, the first column = Blue, Red, White, Green, Black, Brown. The second column = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Rather than entering a vlookup function manually in a cell, I'd like to pop up a userform and be asked which value to return Blue = 1, Red = 2, etc. I then want this cell to automatically update if second column changes value, thus, essentially after running the userform I would like the cells to read =vlookup(A1....) etc.

Note that the cells I want the vlookup formula entered into changes depending on which cell the user selects.

    Is this possible?

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

    Re: Userform and Automatic Recalc

I think I got a idea how to make it work, i'll post it later.

in the Meantime I'm interested in using the ExecuteExcel4Macro to get cell data from a closed workbook. My primary interest is to get the cell data without specifying the sheet (essentially whatever sheet was active last for that workbook). here's what I have so far.

    Formula: copy to clipboard

Please let me know if I can get this to work regardless of sheet name.
