Arrow How to Link up multiple databases(formats include mpp, xlsx) to output in a Project File

    Hello Mates,

I am not very expert in Microsoft Project and Office packages, just have workable knowledge. I am badly in need of a solution/way to learn to solve for a problem regarding 'Linking Up' different databases which include a proposed schedule file of civil works in MPP format, different excel files comprising labor bills, work progress, etc. which are updated regularly(daily/weekly/monthly basis). What I need to do is to 'link up' regularly these records from different files to one existing file(preferably proposed project file) or a new file(mpp/xlsx) so that the various regular inputs in different set of files(excel files mostly) are combined together to be shown in a simplified looking output system(mpp/excel whichever possible) as mentioned in last line.

One of my very good friends referred me to this forum, according to him it is the best place for digging into my answers and he also told me to learn n apply VBA for troubleshooting my problem. As I learned C++ during my undergrad I think it will not take so much time to learn and apply VBA. But unfortunately I am running short of time, so all I am asking is at least give me ways to fix my concern asap.

    Cheers!

    Emilian

If you want to generate any report based on the multiple external data source files then use Pivot Table
