Macro Search and edit

Dear forumers,

I would like to make a simple worksheet to check in guests for an event where the check in process will need to be fast.

For a start the user will type in name in a specific cell in sheet 1, say b3.

User will then click a macro enabled button.

the macro will search the typed name in sheet 1 in a list of names in sheet 2, say column 2.

upon match it will edit value at column 3 of the same row to 1
With that the searched name will be checked in.

I'm stuck at the search part.

Can anyone help?

You can do this handling with excel standard functions: Vlookup.
