timesheet formula not working

    timesheet formula not working

    hi
    I have a time sheet where I enter info in sheet wk1, and this gets sent to sheet January,if I enter 08:00 start to 16:30 in wk1 ,obviously 8and half hrs in the actual hrs column it shows as 7.80hrs and not 8.00hrs as should be after .30 taken off for dinner time,can any one tell me why it does this please

    your formula removes .7 hours not .5 for 30 minutes i think

    So you want to subtract 30 minutes from each time???

    Then use this one......
    And change cell format to hh:mm
    =IFERROR(TIME(HOUR(F6),MINUTE(F6)-30,SECOND(0)),"")

    many thanks for that,had looked at the 0.7,which was the same on the third line and that worked for some unknown reason eg all 0.7 g6 =7.80 g7=7.80 but g8=8.00 and they all use 0.7,thats part of what was confusing me
