After I record a macro, no option appears to save the macro in the personal.xlsb file. How would I save it for use from any workbook?
Where is the XLStart folder? Is that set up by the system or do I set it up someplace?

The macro is saved as long as the file type can run macros.
In Excel look for the programmer option, view code, worksheet option it will give you options on the triggrers...

I must decide prior to recording a macro where to store it - but any macro may be copied over to any workbook if you enter the VBE and copy within the project explorer. For the personla workbook: start recording a macro, choose persopnal workbook, stop, save the workbook when exiting Excel.
