    Remove text between characters

I import a daily report and I need to remove part of a string. As an example the data I receive "42642_19_8" but I need to remove "_19" so I end up with "42642_8". If possible I would like to overwrite what is in the column but this could be an additional column if necessary. At present I am writing a formula to achieve this. Cheers

In order to do as you have ask we need to set parameters for the removal of text. Since you only gave one example, I will assume that you need to remove the middle characters between two underscores. I will also assume column A. Any poor assumptions will need to be corrected by you.

So is CTRL+F and it is more convenient because F is located closer to CTRL than H

Thanks to both of you. Al I'm afraid I had already tried your solution but this removes both sets of numbers not just the middle. Stnkynts your solution worked a treat.
