    Changes to Concatenate Macro

http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...ate-macro.html Previous post for original macro created.

    Changes:
macro breaks if range A only has one line of data
Can output be placed at ,9 (column H) instead of ,6?
**Can Astricks, dashes be excluded from the concatenate function?
Can the ouptut for the count of the charaters be output to ,10 instead of ,8?
Can the output line populate in ,8 the range from column A without the dash?

    Thank you in advance

    ,9 (column H) - ,9 is "I" , 8 is "H"

    Re: Changes to Concatenate Macro

Can the output to ,8 (column H) be the number in Column A without the dashes?
Output current output in ,8 (column H) to be ,9 (Column I)
One additional item. Can you do this same forumulas for the Short text in Column F also?

    Re: Changes to Concatenate Macro

Not sure just what is in column A - is the same number repeated, or do you want to concatenate all the values together?

And where would you want the concatenated short text from column F placed?

    Re: Changes to Concatenate Macro

column A is the same number repeated. Below is an example.

    0405-1771
    0405-1771
    0405-1771
    0405-1771

Actually the last request for the short text from column F will just need to populate the last description in the array. No concatenation needed.

Try this - it puts the last value from the group in column F into column G (you never said where to put that value....)

    Re: Changes to Concatenate Macro

I am testing the macro on the Test1 data I attached in the previous thread. http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...ate-macro.html

When I do this, I get a Type mistach error.

Could you put the result in Column I. That way both long and short descriptions are in the same column.
