    Select range, skip columns/rows

Hello. I have two scenarios that I would like code for.

I have an active selection, let's say A3:A6. I would like to make this selection in every other column, until column S (for example). How would I create this code and how could I choose where it stops?

Let's say I have a selection, let's say A1:D1, and I would like to make this selection in every other row (or every x rows). How would I create this code and how could I choose where it stops?

If you would explain each piece of the code in detail that would be very helpful. Thanks!!

    Why don't you make selection:
    A3:S6
    and
    A1:D65000 for example

so, it is not clear in your question (?)
