Lagging cursor when hovering over shapes with a macro assigned.

    Using Windows 7, Excel 2010.

I have a model with multiple buttons that have macros assigned to them. When I hover my cursor over them the cursor starts to lag and appear to flicker for some reason. It happens with shapes and inserted form buttons.

I opened a new spreadsheet and assigned a macro to a shape and the same thing happened so it's something to do with Excel not my code I think.

Hovering over graphs, combo boxes and toggle boxes is fine.

Do you have a print area set? I had a similar issue a while back, though in my case it happened when loading a user form. When loading the form I inserted code to clear the print area while the form was up, and this seemed to clear the problem. If clearing the print area works for you, you could use the workbook before print event to set the print area for printing purposes. Just a stab in the dark but it might work.

I don't have a print area unfortunately. Thanks for trying though!

For anyone else with the problem I sort of found out what is causing it, it is to do with the graphics card. From what I've found other people with this problem are using an external monitor as well.

Going into your mouse settings and turning off pointer shadows will sort of fix the problem but it is temperamental.

Turning on Pointer trails as well will stop the problem as well.
