    Lightbulb Generate reports through advanced USER FORMS!!

    Hey Friends, Good morning to you all...
    I make the daily and weekly report daily-wise & weekly wise respectively.... I have the same old process, same old format of which i am tired of...
    What i was thinking this morning was that to make a user form where excel will be connected to the database and create a user form from where just through one click, my daily and weekly report will be generated...

    It sounds cool but i have not even a penny idea about how to start and what to do first... Has anyone done this before?? Is this possible what i am thinking??
    if yes, i want to get suggestions and help from you all & experts and take my knowledge to next level...
    I hope that this will also be helpful for all of 'em.

    This sounds like a job for Pivot Tables and grouping the date by Month or days. See:

    Hi marvin, Thanks for you reply.. but that was not what i wanted.. i basically do Pivot for generating my report.. the thing is to jump to next level... Like i've already said in my post 1 that my excel to be connected to a database and VBA to automatically do all calculations and generate me my reports.

    Thinking it would be nice to press a single button and have all you work done is a great goal. Now what do you do manually? Have you learned how to record a macro and gone through your manual steps with the macro recorder turned on? If you have, then we can help to shorten the macro so it might work for more/different workbooks. You will need to attach a workbook describing what you start with and what the end result should look like. A recorded macro would also be helpful to see if we can improve on the recorded steps.

    I know how to create a simple user form....
    But what my question is that to connect my excel user form to an database through which it will go to the format automatically

    Hi menu,

    Did you know that Excel has a Data Form tool that might do exactly what you want, without needing to write any code? It is already in Excel. See an example at:

    I think using the built in Data Form tool is much better than writing your own userform.
