Horizontal lookup value in row then copy other cell value

Dear all,

I have tried looking in the forum for similar problems, but I had no luck. As a true Excel novice, I could really use your help in the following:

I've got a database in which respondents have indicate their preference.
The top row's columns increase in value in steps of 500. Thus: AW=500, AX=1000, AY=1500 ... BV=13000
When a respondent rejects a certain value the corresponding column is equal to 2. When a respondent accepts a certain value the corresponding cell states a 1.

My first respondent is in row 28. I want column CD to give the respondent's accepted value. So when the respondent in row 28 would accept 1500 the row's sequence would be as follows: AW28=2, AX28=2, AY28=1 and thus eventually CD28=1500

Does any of you guys have an idea what formula to use in this case?

Please let me know if you require any additional clarification!

Cheers,

Roderik

Hi, welcome to the forum

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: Horizontal lookup value in row then copy other cell value

Hi FDibbins,

Thanks for your reply. I've added a dummy database.

Whenever a respondent as a 1 in its row, I would like the value in the header row to appear in the last column in the respondent's row.

Please let me know if I need to elaborate any further.
