Exclamation Assigning a background color fill to a cell, given a background color fill on another cell

As the text says:

I have a cell that i want to color green, if another cell is MANUALLY colored green, theres no text on either cells so using standard text formulas doesnt apply, theres absolutely no text on any part of the spreadsheet. except for 2 headers.

Is there some way to put on the conditional format something like this:

Cell B1:
=CellBackgroundColor(A1)

Meaning the background color of B1 will be the same as what ever background color A1 has

Or since this might not be possible to do, then how about this

Is there any way to link the conditoinal formatting on 2 cells?

Meaning WHAT EVER AND ANY conditional formatting is on A1, will be automatically applied to B1?

this way if i change conditional formatting on 1 cell it will auto apply to awhole set of cells on multiple sheets without having to go to every sheet and every cell and change the formatting.

Basically its the Conditional Formatting equivalent of doing B1=A1 on the cell, there has to be a way to do this....

Can this be done?

Any help will be apreciated.

I think you are going to want to post this in the VBA part of the forums for something like this!
Hope they answer you much quicker there! :D

Not possible with regular formulas or Conditional Formatting - unless you have some logic that could be appluied to why the "other" cell was colored green. As suggested, you would need VBA for that.. If that is what you want, I can move this to teh VBA forum.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
