    ExecuteExcel4Macro Not Working inFunction

    I have a function that I call from cell on a worksheet e.g. =xxDay(B7) where B7 contains the row number of the cell where I call the function. The purpose of the function is to get a value from a closed workbook. The function xxDay(row) returns #VALUE. xxDay(row) is an abbreviated version of a rather extensive function for looking up particular days of the week and values pertaining to those days. This function just looks up the day for simplicity.
    Now back to the heart of my dilemma, the function simply dies when it get to calling ExecuteExcel4macro to retrieve the data form the closed workbook.

    I hope someone can shed some light on this problem. I know I can call functions within function, so why doesn't this work?!?
