Hi folks,
I originally posted this in the Excel Formulas and Functions thread but I was redirected here.
Can anyone help?
I'm in the middle of creating a task list.
I've attached a simple example of what I'm after because it is best seen visually I think.
As you can see I have the following:
A Task (Buy Beds)
A Type of bed to buy (King Size, Double, Single (these are all grouped under the specified task))
A status (which has a data validation list whether it's bought, not bought or not necessary)
When the type of bed is grouped, it just shows you 'Buy Beds' and 'Type of bed' along with the data validation for status.
I would like a formula that checks cells C3, C4 and C5 for the word bought or not necessary, and if it does Cell 2 will show up bought. If the word 'not bought' is any of these cells, Cell 2 will show up 'not bought'.
Same vice versa, if I was use the data validation on Cell 2 to select Bought, I would like Cell C3, C4 and C5 to all update to Bought automatically instead of having to go through each option and select them manually.
Any ideas?
Sorry if it's long winded, I'll try and give any more information if needed
Thanks
