    employee time punch

    Hi Experts,

    How to store and retrieve data from one sheet to another sheet
    I have two worksheet, one is input and other is storage sheet

    In Input worksheet - I have Employee code and Name list in A:A
    Date in C1 ,
    In time H:H
    Out time I:I
    Break J:J

    In Storage worksheet : Please help me in adding input data to Storage worksheet
    Emp. Code A:A, Emp. Name B:B , Date C:C, Intime D:D, Outtime E:E, Break F:F, Total Hrs G:G (D+E-F)

    Retrieving the same data on selecting datewise, Update and Save to the same again.

    Kindly refer attachment.

    skhari, forum rules require you to wait at least a day before "bumping" your thread. Plus, many members look for threads with 0 posts - by adding a bump, your thread then had 1 post on ot (excuding this 1)

    Looking at your file, Im not really sure why you need that 1st sheet? Why not just enter all data straight into Storage? You could then run all sorts of sammaries etc from that sheet

    (On a side note, you should avoid using merged cells if at all possible, they cause all sorts of problems with formulas)

    I have posted the same requirement many times in different specific title. but no one replied. that's the reason for bumping

    Yes i can directly enter all data direct to storage sheet. But each time i have to enter employee names.
    But as you said i can avoid the merged cells.
