    Hello
It seems you can prevent movement of the slicer and retain functionality when the sheet is locked. Unfortunately, the Right click menu still allows you to Cut the Slicer and edit some properties.

I generally handle this just as DBY suggested. I disable resizing and moving. Just right click on the slicer and choose Size and Properties, then sslect the position and layout tab, and activate the Disable resizing and moving checkbox. It will not prevent someone from right clicking on it and deleting it, or going back in and enabling resizing/moving for that matter.

@mick0005, this is a very concise sum-up of how to protect slicers from accidental stuff-ups.

Anything not covered by this technique should be filed under "malicious intent".

@teylyn, any approaches you've come up with to prevent deleting them as well? So far I've been ok with the prevention of "accidental stuff-up" approach, but I'm curious if anyone has managed to make it fool-proof.

As far as I'm concerned, fool-proofing only goes so far.

I prefer to spend an hour teaching users (or recording a "how-to" video that can be shared with users of the spreadsheet), and help them understand the issue, than spend a week trying to figure out and trying to prevent the gazillion ways a user may apply to shoot down the application.

In most cases, people don't have malicious intent. So teaching them how to do things right will be a welcomed piece of information.

You could always put a note next to the slicers 'Please don't delete the slicers, and if you do (by accident), please close the workbook without saving'
