Exclamation Dynamic Connection with Excel Worksheets

    Dear Forum

Forgive me, if I do not know the correct technical name for this product - trying my best to describe what I looking for:

I am looking for a solution that allows me to locate, calculate and link values from foreign/external data-sources into a single Excel cell in hopes of maintaining a dynamic link and automating the calculation of my spreadsheet each month.

For example, I like to create a financial statement using Excel as my report output sheet,
In Cell B22, under the date header "02/28/2015" (cell B21), I want to insert the total revenue value for that month.
I want to use an add-in or connector tool that connects with an external accounting database to map/link necessary dimensions and return the value in question (total revenue).
In this simple example, dimensions of concern would be: GL accounts, period (referenced to cell B21), transaction amount.

The syntax is not Excel based but rather proprietary to the add-in tool or connector product that collaborates with the external data-source to fetch, link and return the call-up values.

Anyone who can refer me to the name or company that produces such a tool, be appreciative.
NetSuite (the accounting system) does not have such a direct integration tool with Excel. I am using MS Access to link and download NetSuite data tables.
So the external connection would be with Access. But the output is not a pivot report, which is too rigid. I need the cells to be secular and editable/programmable.

    Thanks

    Al
