    Macro to exe

    Hello,

I have various excel macros which I use on different work books. Can I change these macros to an .exe or .bat file which can b placed on the desktop?

The challenge is that some of the work books which I work is downloading from my web portal, so instantly the macros will not be available in that.

If it is in the form of an exe file, I can run the macro when I need it.

Is it possible to convert an excel macro to an .exe file?

Move your macros to your personal excel file. They will be available whenever excel is open.

    open excel

    select view then unhide

    unhide the personal workbook

strore your macros in a module in that workbook
    hide the workbook

exit excel. BUT make sure you select save when you get the message personal workbook has been changed.

Use an Excel Spreadsheet on the Desktop
Define the macro as workbook wide macro that runs on open
You will need to use security settings to define the desktop as a safe location.
