How to read custom props on closed file (64bit Win Server, 64bit Excel)

I've been trying in vain to get dsofile.dll to work on Windows Server with Excel 2010 64bit. It simply won't work in VBA. However, the demo file that comes with the dsofile download (Microsoft) does work. It shows all the properties on the selected file. I'm assuming this is due to the EXE being 32 bit and the dll is too.

Are there any alternatives for reading custom or builtin properties on a closed Excel file for 62bit windows and excel?

Just bumping before I throw in the towel. Can anyone confirm dsofile does/not work on Win 64 with Excel 64?
