Fill blank cells in column with value in the column below blank cells

Anyone have code that would look at a column and select the blank cells and fill them with the first cell that has data in it below the blank cells? I know how to do it by selecting the range and clicking F5 selecting blanks and using the formula to populate them all using a the cell above the blank cell. But in this case the cell with the data is below the blank cell. I have entities down the page for one GL account with the GL account at the bottom of the entity list. I want to fill all the rows above it for each entity. There are a hundred or so accounts down the data set. I want to be able to create a pivot off of the data once all the blank cells are populated but having the cell below is making it harder for me.

If you know how to do it manually from the cell above (and CTRL-Enter to apply the formula to all the blank cells), then you can do what you want by using the cell immediately below the first blank cell in the formula.

    Hope this helps.

Can't you do the same thing by selecting the blank cells and type in the formula for the cell below instead of the cell above, then press CTRL + Enter to fill them all in?
