Text match

I have a workbook where in column A10 down has text. If the same text is found anywhere else in column A - Turn interior color grey from A-I on that row and lock those grey cells.

So if a user is filling in the workbook, in column A10 would be Dog23 and then in column A11 the user adds Dog23 B11-I11 turn grey and lock for editing. This would be turn down the sheet. If Cat11 where added to A12, B12-I12 would be open for editing.

I've tried to do an IF statement but can't get it to work properly.

It's kind of clunky, but it seems to work....You'll need to put this in the WorkSheet section of the VB Editor.
