Row height adjusting macro not working on rows with merged cells

I am using a macro (which works great) to adjust the row height.
The macro copies a list of row heights written manually in column V1-V42 and copies the heights down, 40 times in this instance.

The thing that causes issues when running the macro is when excel comes across merged cells. If for example Cells G7 and G8 are merged,
excel will force the same row height for both rows.
Is there a way to work around this?

Just a friendly advice, Merging cells is bad practice and all it does is cause problems..

Why are merged cells bad pratice? I mean what is the alternative, if you want a specific cell to have a width or height that is different from the other cells in the row/column?

Unfortunantly i am forced to use standard practice sheets in my job that i don't really have any influence on. So i have to live with the way they are made.

using merged cells for the presentation side of things on a sheet is not so much an issue. It's when they are used on the data layer that the problems start.

As Andy mentioned, certain sheets/parts of sheet are only there for presentation purpose, and thats where Merged cells arent such a bug issue.

Talking about alternatives, when you are trying to Merge Columns, you can select the Cells > Ctrl+1 > Alignment Tab > Horizontal > Center Across Selection. This will exactly look like merged cells, eithout them being merged.

However when trying to merge rows, I am afraid we do not have a workaround..
