Hi guys,
I'm trying to create a worksheet with two tabs to compare the day on day variances on the balance sheet items. In Tab data, thats where I use as a database to store the daily data (say 5000 lines per day). And the other Tab summary is where I've created pivot tables for comparing the DoD variances for two days.
The challenge is pivot table would only be able to calculate the sum for individual items of the two days but not able to subtract them to give the variances.
The current workaround I use is to manually reverse the amount for the prior data in the Tab data in order to enable the pivot table to calculate the difference i.e. day A + (- day B). Apparently though this is quite cumbersome and require extra time to manipulate the underlying data and risky in a way also.
Any helpful advice on how to achieve this with a pivot table without manipulate the underlying data would be appreciated.
cheers, V
