    UDF computer name

    hi

i would like a UDF to a specific table . the moment any user open the excel sheet and create or add or edit a row , it will appear the name of the computer with the time. its kinda like dropbox view history where it say "Edited by xxxxx D/MMM/YY hh:mm"

i have an excel sheet at work where i share it with the team at dropbox. the file have a cell of =now() for date and time. so even if you open the file for one minute and you close it without making any change it will still ask you if you want to save or not . sometimes two will forget about it that its open . one will do change and save. the other didn't do any thing but the system still ask to save. once he hit save, it will remove the last one .

i tried couple of method of UDF i saw online. but none of them show the name of the laptop or computer. it shows #Value!

we are Mac user of excel 2011

    thank you

    regards,
    hani

but the problem i have to do it manual

lets say A1 to J30 i have a table . i want in J column empty cell all of it . the moment you inter new row in-between or you type anything any where in any cell , it will show your the user name. also, want to add new column K where it will show the last edited for that row 24hour format local time and date D/MMM/YY HH:MM or if i can show all in one column in J formatted for example as following user name - d/MMM/YY HH:MM local time
