Unable to replicate simple macro process/unable to compose simple copy paste macro

    2 part question

I’m trying my hand at macros for the first time to help out a mate with a spreadsheet.

I’m trying to replicate the process detailed in the link below to generate a search bar with suggested options to search a database of products and build a subset of 6 to print.

    http://trumpexcel.com/2013/10/excel-...h-suggestions/

I must have done something wrong along the way as I can’t seem to get the drop-down component to work. Note: the 3 helper columns (described in the linked article) can be found under the entry number heading (where they will be hidden by formatting in the final version).

My second issue is that when an item has been searched I want to generate a macro linked to the ‘Add Button’ to copy that name and paste it into the next blank cell in the range $I$13:$I$18.

Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    G’day Dave and Jasper

Can’t thank you enough for these solutions I’d be buggered without this forum it’s an absolute life saver. Can’t believe I overlooked something as simple as the name manager formula error, tops catch on that one.

I sent a draft of the spread sheet through to my mate this arvo, exactly what he was after.

    Cheers again

    G’day Lads

Quick additional query if you don't mind?

I've put together the next version of the workbook using the solution you provided above.

I’ve since tried to replicate this method to generate a version of the sheet that allows search by ‘Product Code’ and ‘Product Description’ by using 2 search bars each with the drop down search suggestions.

I’ve repeated the process 3 times now with similar unusual results (attached)

When I type anything in any cell in the sheet (while not in design mode) and hit enter one of the lists drops down, if I am entering data further down the page it will do this in a location separate from the combo box (often appearing in the middle of the ribbon). Moreover, when I type in the ‘Search by Description’ search box the ‘Search by Product List’ drops down, and vice versa.

Could these search boxes be clashing somehow? Or have I overlooked something unfathomably and embarrassingly simple again?

Any thoughts on these issues would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers again
