Why my workbook takes too much time after pressing Ctrl+S to save

Hello respected gurus and excellers!

My workbook(that contains 800+ records and a user form for data entry),takes to much time every time when I press Ctrl+S or try to save by Save option.On the status bar of my workbook there appears an increasing strip along with with a message "Saving: Press ESC to cancel.". Is it due to the long code behind my userform or my records are increasing thats why it takes at least ten seconds to complete one save operation?
or is it some other issue?

Well I found the solution myself.I pressed Ctrl+End which took me to 1048576th row which meant that my work book had to save 1048576 rows whic I used only 800 rows.So I deleted the rows below my last record and resaved. then it took less than a second to complete save operation.
