Count colored cells for conditional formatting

Hello everyone
I have the following UDF function that counts the colored cells for conditional formatting cells
It works well for only ranges of one column but gives incorrect results with ranges of more than two columns

Here's a sub you can use.
Unfortunately display format doesn't work with a UDF.
I tried calling the sub from a function but that doesn't work either.
Try it out.
If you aren't familiar with display format you will learn something here. Maybe you are and that's why you are not using it in your function since it doesn't work in a UDF.
