I have a working chunk of code to access an Oracle database. While it works, it is painfully slow for "like" queries (the database I'm hitting has over a million records). I installed the "Lite" Oracle Client as I needed an older version to be able to hit our server.
What I would love to know...Lastly, this is only a section of the code. The rest contains too many private details to be practical to post in a public forum.
- I've tried to break long strings up to make it easy to follow and modify. Is this at all "elegant"?
- I am adding a sheet to hold the response so I can use the worksheet duplicate function to clean it up. I think that ADO would be faster for "like" searches. How hard would this be to do using ADO?
- I used 'Marco Record' to build this. Why is there an Array(...) for the .CommandText?
I had to attach the code as a text file. Some part of it was detected as an "sql injection"?
