Elliminate prentices and value inside of ABC(E)

If I have a string in a cell that is something like this: ABC(E), what's the easiest way to eliminate the prentices and the value inside them - "(E)" in this case, and leave the rest of the string intact? It's always one letter inside, but the length of string before it can very between 1 and 5 characters, so could be A(G) or ABCDE(M).
