    Alphanumeric date format

    Hi Guys

I have put together a basic document tracker userform for my QA department, and it all works as it should :-)

They have now asked if I can set the date format they enter to display a certain way on the database to keep it in line with QA policy.

The format they want is - 19-Dec-2015

I have looked everywhere but cant find anything that shows how to get the database to convert whatever text or numbers they enter to convert it.

If I highlight the column on the database independently, I can format it to the US long date option, which is what they want, but when entering dates via the userform it reverts back to the standard format.

Any ideas as to how I can get the format the way it is required?
Sorry, I have no code to upload as I hadn't set a date format, as originally, they wanted to leave it as text only to avoid issues.

You say "database", but are you really dealing with an Excel range? (versus MS Access, SQL Server, etc)
Assuming "yes", how is the data getting from the form to the range? Can you post some sample data, so we can see what you're working with?

    Hi Ron

thanks for taking the time to respond.

I built an Excel userform to input data to a worksheet to meet specific criteria for our QA team.
Since posting my thread I have played around with the toolbox and found a nice little date input control that formats the date exactly as required, so everyone is pleased, as they have things completed before the New year.

*It was found by right clicking the toolbox in VBA and selecting Additional Controls*
