How to calculate end of month -2 days

I need a formula that calculates end of month. For example, i have a calender, where the person picks a date, lets say for example: 20/01/2016, i need a formula that calculates the end of the month of january - 2 days. Is this possible? If the person picks march, for example, i want it to calculate the end of the month of march - 2 days, is that possible?

We would really need to know where this date is stored and in what kind of format.
A standard formula for returning the last day of the month less 2 days (for January 2016) would be :

With your date in A1, you can use this formula (e.g. in B1):

=EOMONTH(A1,0)-2
