Data Import Only importing small amount of web page

When I navigate to DATA > From Web and point it to

and I try and select all the data it only imports the headings and not any of the other data such as the summary or player names etc. Why is this and what do I have to do to get all the data I physically see imported into excel?

Anyone any ideas? I recorded the data web import macro but that only brings in a fraction of the data that I see on the page when it is loaded. Do I need other code to get all the data?

Hi,

The older Data from Web import only showed web data that was formatted as a TABLE. That means it would show little yellow arrows at the end of each table that was found on the web page. Web designers may or may not use HTML tables now in their design. Excel has now updated their web import using Power Queries. Read about it at:

Use this in web query. And instead of selecting the whole page select the tables you want to import. It worked for me.

Could you use the Record Macro feature, and then import that data from that URL? Then you should be able to post the code on here.

You can turn off the re-directions.
When you goto Data>>From Web>>
In the dialog click on "Options" on the top right corner.
Disable web query redirections from there.

Unfortunately it still redirects me to .co.uk! Even when running the code it redirects too!

I did and it runs fine but returns nothing for me so I'm assuming it redirects to co.uk and therefore picks up no data.

Yeah I made sure that line was correct. Not sure what is causing the re-direct so!

Still redirects me and therefore imports no data! Thanks for trying anyway. Perhaps somebody else knows some code that will extract the data from the URL?
