Allow access to WorkBook ONLY if on network

I have an xlsm workbook, that I want to limit access to, unless you are connected to a specific network. So either on location - or through VPN.
(That way the user is authenticated)
Maybe open up a splash page that will go away if the user is connected.

    Thanks for any suggestion!

    Hi CRIMEDOG,

Try using an environment variable such as 'ComputerName' or 'UserDomain '.

    For example:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
If plan A does not work, have the file access a 'specific file' on the Network, and close the Excel File if the 'specific file' does not exist.

I tried the UserDomain ... it returned Company whether I was connected or not.
Same with ComputerName returned the same value.

Oops. A local Excel file, will only access local environment values.

I was hoping that there was some resource on the Network that you could identify from within Excel, such as a specific file or a specific folder. Then you could take appropriate action.

I'm sorry that my suggestion did not work out.
