In column A I have a list of data which contains approx 1,000 different entries, repeated randomly multiple times down the column. When I enter something into column B (same row) I want Excel to automatically enter the same associated entry in column B for every matching entry in column A. When ever I change the entry in the cell in column B, I again want it to change in all instances down the entire column.
maybe with helper column
A1:An - data
B1:Bn - =IF(INDEX($C$1:$C$n,MATCH(A1,$A$1:$A$n,0))=0,"",INDEX($C$1:$C$n,MATCH(A1,$A$1:$A$n,0))) and drag down
C1:Cn - "something"
or use VBA
