Date Format Formulam - Mixture of date formats and seperators

    Hi,

I have incoming data with a mixture of date formats. EG:

    31-1-05
    1-31-2005
    1-31-05
    1/31/2005
    31/1/2005

There is a huge amount of data and I really do not have time to sift through and manually change everything. Is there a quick way to get all the dates in uniform formatting?

Select all the dates and use Text to Columns. Delimited, no delimiter required. Choose Date and MDY and Finish

Re: Date Format Formulam - Mixture of date formats and seperators

If you have inputs like this ...

    1/31/2005
    31/1/2005

... you're in for some heartache. The first must be m/d/y, and the second must be d/m/y, but that leaves you to wonder what

    1/2/2003

... means, because either interpretation is valid.
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
