Changing Columns in breaking reports- Advice needed

    Dear Experts,

I needed your advice on how to handle this situation that breaks my report.

    The situation:

I do receive a file from our planning team on a monthly basis, which i then feed into my macro solution in order to create reports that i can then forward to my end-users. However, i started noticing lately that my reports are showing errors or are bringing in the wrong values and so i traced it to the fact that the planning team had moved some columns around thereby breaking my own formulas that depends on some of the columns that had moved.

    So my questions are:
    1. How can i handle these changes since the maintenance of the source file is outside of my control?
    2. Is there a way i can create a formula that will always look for the column(s) that moved?

I will appreciate any suggestion(s) that i can run with to modify my reports!

    Many thanks!

Used named ranges instead of column ranges in your formulas

Then when you open the source file, search for your column headings and use that to create your named ranges.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window (or use the paperclip icon).

Thanks mehmetcik for your time and sorry for getting back on this late (swamped with requests at work)

I will use a macro to match the headers between the 2 files. That should save my formulas from breaking!

    Many thanks once again
