    Email Notifcations from Excel

    Hi,
I am trying to get Excel to email me when a persons' induction is due in <=21 days. I have attached an pic of what the spread sheet looks like. Ideally it would email me and the person due to be expired. Can you help me out? I am pretty new to VBA.

you are going to need to provide more information on how your data is setup
pictures are great to look at but a sample file would go a mile in explaining your situtation

To Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window (or use the paperclip icon).

    Re: Email Notifcations from Excel

You should specify exactly what you want to receive.

I presume you want it to check the sheet for all users with induction dates under 22 days. then send an email to you and to them with a certain set of data in it (give a sample) for each user (so you could receive multiple emails in a day). then it records that an email is send and doesn't send any more.

Also ask yourself - can the users change the dates in the sheet and do you want to take account of that?

And more generally - Keep in mind that you seem to be asking us to run a macro when the sheet is open - but if no one opens the sheet for a few days - it might not be even checking if there is any inductees have training coming up. Do you plan to proactively check the file then run the macro yourself?

Oh... and the really obvious question -
What are you using as your email client?

    Re: Email Notifcations from Excel

    HI,
Thanks for the prompt replies! Please see answers below and a sample file attached.

•I presume you want it to check the sheet for all users with induction dates under 22 days. Phil: Correct
•Then send an email to you and to them with a certain set of data in it (give a sample) for each user (so you could receive multiple emails in a day). then it records that an email is send and doesn't send any more. Phil: Correct and I have included sample in the attachment.

Also ask yourself - can the users change the dates in the sheet and do you want to take account of that? Phil: I will take account of the data in the spread sheet. The other users have no access.

And more generally - Keep in mind that you seem to be asking us to run a macro when the sheet is open - but if no one opens the sheet for a few days - it might not be even checking if there is any inductees have training coming up. Do you plan to proactively check the file then run the macro yourself? Phil: I will run the macro myself bi-weekly as a standard routine during my routine audits.

Oh... and the really obvious question -
What are you using as your email client? Phil: Outlook

Let me know if I missed out any other info you may need.
    Thanks,
    Phil

i suggest adding a column which will indicate if email has been sent previously to see what it does
ive put a button in there to make the Macro easier to run
