Why a macro? Why from within Excel? You do know that Excel can't open PDFs don't you?
To do this from within Excel you will need to use Adobe's APIs and consult their developers' toolkit. I'm not saying it can't be done. I am saying it's not easy and it's not something I would want to tackle. Can of worms stuff.
You can however do it really easily using someone else's hard work. I use PDFill for stuff like this. You can download a .pdf tools utility from the link below that will do what you want for free, just not from within Excel.
