Prevent VBA Project Password Crack

Hello Members,
Greetings!

We can lock the VB project however it is easier to crack the password and view the code. In one of the recent incident, I developed a tool and a guy from other dept was able to crack the password using Hex Editor and replicated the codes with some modifications.

Is there a way we can prevent this in Excel-2013? Or at least a code that should corrupt the file when someone tries to break the password or any other way?

So how does code in an unloaded workbook know when to "corrupt the file when someone tries to break the password"...?

You can check if the project is password protected in code, but that means making a change in the Excel Options screen. This option is Off by default and 99% or users don't even know it's there; so if your workbook is on anything other than your machine, it most likely won't work.

Excel protection is meant only to dissuade casual browsing of the code. Anyone who wants to can easily remove the Project password - in fact it's not even necessary to remove the password at all...
