Help! Is it possible to use VBA to view images directly from hyperlinks?

Hi Everyone - I'm new to the forum, and hope this question is appropriate for the forum.

I work with relatively large files on a daily basis with 100's to 1000's of images everyday, and cannot view the images without clicking/pasting them into a browser. I am curious to know if there is a way to create an image viewer that would pull images from a desktop, cloud, or FTP folder without saving them to the spreadsheet itself. My file sizes would get out of control quickly if I were to use a macro to insert the image, and I was hoping there would be a way to do this via Visual Basics.

Finally, if this task is possible, can anyone recommend a coder/tudor to help create and walk me through the basics to apply it to other sheets?
