    Excel 2013 Missing Legacy Tools

Looking for my Legacy Tools, specifically the Forms Toolbar. Found this article that tells exactly where to find them in 2013(http://www.addintools.com/documents/...m-toolbar.html), and it doesn't work for me. The instructions say "Then you will view that the Developer tab is added after View tab. Go to the Controls group under Developer tab, click the Click the Legacy drop down button, then you will view the Legacy Forms buttons. These buttons are Form Toolbar buttons." My Developer tab Controls group doesn't have a Legacy drop down button. What can I do?

In 2013 if you click on DEVELOPER then click on the down arrow under INSERT you see the forms you could use previously.

That doesn't seem to be the case. My dropdown doesn't include the Legacy tools. Specifically I'm looking for the Forms Toolbar.

What is the benefit of the FORM toolbar instead of the form controls drop down?

Re: Excel 2013 Missing Legacy Tools

From another thread I found a need to select the cell area over which my Button is sitting. I found code to do it (below), but that code doesn't work for me, for either a Form Control Button or an ActiveX Command Button. I found a few derivations, but none worked for me. Than I came across a comment that mentions that this code requires that all of your buttons have to be buttons made from the Forms Toolbar. Hence my search for the Forms Toolbar.

    Hi Jomili,
Try to use ordinary AutoShapes instead of Forms and ActiveX control. See attachment

Re: Excel 2013 Missing Legacy Tools

the form controls section on your insert dropdown is the equivalent of the Forms Toolbar from the older versions of excel. activesheet.buttons and application.caller only work with the form control button

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

Re: Excel 2013 Missing Legacy Tools

    JosephP,
In the workbook I attached I had both a form control button and an Active X Command button. The code didn't work for either of them, so something's wrong.

    Nilem,
While for my personal use I could go with your recommendation, but the need is to find the address under the existing button (for one of my users) so I need a solution that will do that.

Re: Excel 2013 Missing Legacy Tools

Nilem, your "maybe" ROCKS! That was exactly what was needed. It correctly selected the cell to the topleft on my Form Button, then when I changed "test(1)" to "test(2)" it did the same on my second activeshape (my ActiveX Command Button). Thank you so much!
