Question: Relative Instead of Absolute Paths in VBA

I've been researching the internet concerning Relative vs Absolute. There seems to be varying positions on which syntax command is best.

    These seem to be the front runners: ActiveWorkbook.Path ..... ThisWorkbook.Path ..... App.Path

Since I'm learning about VBA (independently) and you folks have been absolutely great providing guidance ... what are your thoughts ?

    Here are my present concerns:

I'm using an installer to distribute my freeware program and presently not giving the user an option of where to install the program.

There are links within the program that are 'hard wired' to a specific directory/sub-folder.

It has a program backup feature that is also referencing an absolute directory path.

What would be the best way of editing the syntax so the user can install the program in any location they want and still have all aspects of the program function as intended ?

    Thank you.
