Waiting for WinHTTP response Excel goes to 'not responding' - anything I can do?

    Hi all,

I assume this has been tackled before, but couldn't find it on multiple searches [I might be daft].

I pull a lot of data through WinHTTP - when doing so, sometimes Excel will go to (not responding) - seemingly messing Excel up for anyone who uses the file.
When the response is received, it goes back to being responsive.
I know this is due to Windows not receiving anything from Excel and therefore labeling it as 'not responding'.
Is there anything I can do to overcome this?

Please don't suggest a DoEvents or something, as it happens while waiting for the WinHTTP reply [circa 30-40 seconds - it's a loonnnngggg json string].

    Example code

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello JasperD,

I am facing a similar issue where the excel goes to not responding unless the put response is returned. I am uploading files to a REST endpoint and the files ranges from 1MB and go up to 100MB and beyond. So naturally excel hangs till the process is completed. Did you happen to find a solution for it?

    Regards,
    Mona
