Average number of Blank Cells between entries in a Range

    Hi All,

I'm having a tough time figuring this one out.

I have a list of dates as my headers and numbers that signify an order in a row. There are entries when an order was placed and no data when there was no order placed. I need to find out the average of days between orders so I would need to build something that counts the average number of blank cells in a row.

Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

You might have to use two formulas for this, as you cannot average a 0 value. Use a COUNTIF formula to count the # of blank cells in each row, then average those results. See column E for the formulas in the attachment..

Thanks for the response! The issue with this is that each row represents a different items order history. The goal is to find out the average number of days between orders.
