putting a percentage calculation into a chart

hi all

can anyone suggest how I can put a percentage calculation into the bottom left hand side of a barchart.
the percentage calculation is in another sheet within the same workbook I am just trying to display it
in the chart.

can anyone help ?

Please attach the workbook with non-sensitive data. If the data is formatted correctly it's a matter of "getting under the hood" for the chart and adding a series. I can take snapshots along the way to show you how to do it.

Or if it's just an overall percentage for the whole chart (meaning that you have one value and not a value for everything on the X-Axis), then it's easier: draw a text box where you want the value and instead of entering text, go up to the formula bar, type = and then select the cell containing the value you wish to display.

the cell which has the percentage figure is in sheet1 cell ref m803

and I want it to go in the bottom right hand side of the chart, I have tried drawing
a text box and putting=and the cell reference but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I still haven't managed to resolve the other issue I posted ?

In the attached, there is a text box (I outlined it so you can see it) in the chart. I selected the text box, clicked in the formula bar and selected cell E2. Cell E2 could have just as well been on some other sheet.

You can also do the same thing with chart titles. You can create a string in another cell, and then reference that cell in the chart title "text box."
