Excel VBA: Convert a date string to a HFS + timestamp

Hello. I have a variable row of time stamps. What would be the correct syntax to convert date string "10/1/2016 12:15:00 AM" to HFS + timestamp
HFS Plus-timestamp being the number of seconds since midnight, January 1, 1904 GMT
I need to store values in adjacent column as long data type values. This is what I've been able to surmise.

date2hfs converts a VBScript date to an HFS timestamp:

I'm at a bit of a loss on what the syntax would be for a sub routine. Would I just call up the function?
