Creating predictive Japanese candle stick charts

    Hello friends...

I am sure there are many experts on the forum who have their self designed models / systems for stock / commodity / currency analysis....

Recently I came across someone who had made a predictive Japanese Candlestick chart (daily candle stick) for next next 3 months and claims that it has worked for him in the past....

Does anyone on the forum know how predictive Japanese Candlestick chart can be created for stocks / indices???

Excel has had candlestick charts since at least '07.

If your question is how to make such a chart, use five columns. Date, open, low, high, and close price. Select the data and insert a candlestick chart.

If you question is where to get the data, you can start with finance.yahoo.com. Find historical prices and download them as an Excel file. Cumbersome but it is free.

If you question is how to predict financial markets, sorry I'm keeping that secret for now.

    Good luck!

In this thread http://www.excelforum.com/excel-char...ck-charts.html where you essentially asked the same question, I suggested two links that describe patterns to look for in candlestick charts. I am not an expert on this kind of financial analysis, but perhaps if you explain what it was about links like those that you do not understand or find inapplicable to the analysis you want to do, those knowledgeable about such things will be better able to provide suggestions.

If there was an effective and publicly (in the very loosest sense) available model that worked for any substantial amount of assets over a short time frame on a number of inputs you would find manageable, then someone with a bank of computers attached to the stock exchange would engage in some arbitrage until it didn't work anymore.

In my opinion, it is pretty implausible your friend is onto anything over short time frames like that. Your best chance is to find an industry where you have special knowledge (that you can add to your analysis and which would set their pattern analysis wrong) - or play a long enough game that your expected ROI is below the level these guys care about.

    Many thanks for your opinion....

First & foremost... there is NO full proof, perfect & accurate system...

What I was asking for is if someone, like me, has thought on similar lines and can share thoughts / views.... I don't expect anyone to share there model
