Macros not working like they use to

    Hello,

We recently upgraded to Windows 10 Excel 2016. We have files with macros that we have been using for months and some of them for years that are breaking down all of a sudden. Have any of you had this issue? Macros that simple copy paste isn't working or pulling formulas down a row of data ends up bombing out starting we've exceeded resources when we never had the issue before.

what windows/excel/bits were the macros written in and performed well in? I presume 2013?
I just ask because I have xp/2010/32 to 2012server/2013/64 issues in that space - although mostly with large macros.

It sounds like you are saying these are simple macros? are they working on a lot of data? maybe you can show some example code.

majority of the macro works. it doesn't perform simple copy and paste parts of the formula or ripping down formulas to the last row. The code was built on 64 bit 2013 excel windows 7. The tool was then shared with people on 2010 excel windows 7. We recently switched to windows 10 2016 excel and they put us on 32 bit instead of 64 which I am working with IT to get corrected for my team but the rest of the financial department outside of my team will be on 32 bit. We haven't had issue in 2013 excel with crossing files between 32 and 64 bit excel though. Do you think if we copy the code from the 64 bit version into a new 34 bit version it may work? I would hate to have to do that because the workbook is pretty advanced with tabs for various calculations. Too large of a file to post here.

Can you post some examples of the code that's causing problems?

Sure let me get with one of the guys on my team that had the problem and pull the code. It was pretty simple copy a range and paste value code. and lastrow calculations to then copy a row with formulas on it down a large number of rows to the lastrow range. I will try to post shortly.
